At the end of the first phase of the “One Team” project, to the 140 students of the first classes of the Arcadia Institute, Olimpia Milano gave the opportunity to spend a day practicing together with the first team at the Assago Forum. Accompanied by their teachers using three buses provided by the club, the students arrived at the arena and were welcomed by their “One Team” instructors who distributed them in the stands. They were thus able to watch the first part of the players’ practice.

At halftime they were allowed to go down to the court to greet the athletes, who greeted them warmly, high-fiving each one. Unmissable then was the group photo tagged “One Team.” Back in the stands for the second part of the practice, they observe the shooting part. At the end of the workout, greeting the athletes, they finally stepped onto the Forum’s parquet. Led by coaches, Marilisa, Alessandro and Domenico, the 7 classes competed in a shooting competition. Arranged in two rows in their respective halves of the court behind the baseline, one after the other, dribbling, they had to reach the middle of the court, go around it, return and pass the ball to their partner at the back, then positioning themselves on the first notch of the shooting area, and try to make free all teammate, then they can shoot all together and make a shooting challenge. The 4 classes that scored the most baskets thus advanced to the semifinals. The tournament then concluded with a very evenly balanced final, decided by a single basket difference.

After the final shout “One Team,” the students left the arena, also receiving a small gift from Olimpia Milano.

Laureus colleagues collected, with short interviews during the various stages of this enjoyable day, the emotions of students and athletes.

We now await the evolution of the project in its second phase.
